Steve Hong (47) 경영 실장은 최근 Loc Twist Baids Wave Edge Gel 카테고리에서 최고의 인기 제품의 하나로 알려진 오리지날 “LOC N” Gel 생산업체와 협력, 야심작 “LOC N” <3X LOC N PRE-STRETCHED BRAID>를 출시했다. 오리지날 LOC N GEL 과 CROWN PACIFIC HAIR가 만난 올해 최고의 합작품으로 평가 받고 있다.
홍 실장은 9살 때 부모님을 따라 미국에 왔다. 대학 (Information System 전공)을 마치고 잠시 타 직장에서 일하다 27살에 부친 (홍수강 사장, 80) 회사 Crown Pacific사에 조인했다. 부친 홍 사장은 가발업계의 원로의 한 분이다.
1970년대 가발수출업체로서 선두를 달리고 있었던 서울통상(주)에 40:1의 경쟁을 뚫고 입사해 가발업계에 입문, 한국 최초의 가발공장 미성(주), 그리고 당시 휴먼헤어로 이름을 날렸던 L.A 소재 Royal Imex사를 거쳐, 1992년 아틀란타에서 가발 수입&도매업체 Crown Pacific사를 설립했다.
“저도 20여년의 경험을 쌓은 셈입니다. 그간 사업을 배우면서 부친께서 세우신 회사를 유지하기 위해서 많은 노력했어요. 이제는 제 나름의 소신을 펼쳐보고 싶습니다. 최근 LOC N 브레이드제품을 출시하면서 브레이드 분야의 인풀루언서들과 의견을 나누면서 틱톡,인스타그램, 페이스북 같은 SNS 홍보에 치중하고 있습니다.” 홍 실장은 이렇게 말하면서 “계속해서 새로운 콘텐츠를 담은 영상자료 등을 개발해 내고 있다” 고 덧붙인다.
“지금은 워낙 경기에 좋지 않습니다. 하지만 장기적으로는 좋아질 것으로 봅니다. 저희 회사는 공장과 유대관계도 아주 잘 되어 있고, 장기근무자 세일즈 직원들이 고객들과의 관계를 아주 잘해 오셨기 때문에 어렵지만 이 상황만 벗어나면 새로운 기회가 올 것이라 믿고 있습니다.”

Steve Hong, 47, the executive director, recently launched the ambitious LOC N <3X LOC N PRE-STRETCHED BRAID> in partnership with the original “LOC N” Gel producer, which is known as one of the top favorites in the Loc Twist Baids Wave Edge Gel category. The original LOCN GEL and CROWN PACIFIC are considered the best collaboration of the year.
Steve came to the U.S. with his parents when he was 9 years old. After finishing college (majoring in Information System), he worked for another companies for a while, and at the age of 27, he joined the Crown Pacific established by his father (CEO Hong Soo-kwang, 80). His father is one of the elders in the wig industry. He entered the wig industry joining the Seoul Trading Co and Industry through 40:1 competitiveness. Seoul Trading was leading as a wig exporter in the 1970s. And then he moved to Korea’s top wig factory, Miseong, and Royal Imex, L.A., which was then known as Human Hair, and finally founded Crown Pacific, a wig import and wholesale company, in Atlanta in 1992.
“I also have more than 20 years of experience. I’ve tried a lot to maintain the company my father established while learning about the business. Now I want to open up my own beliefs. With the recent launch of LOC N Braid products, we are focusing on promoting SNS marketing such as TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook while discussing opinions with influencers in the Braid field. ” Steve says this, adding, “We are continuously developing video materials containing new content.”
“It’s so bad for the game right now. But I think it will get better in the long run. Our company has very good ties with the factory, and our long-term sales staff have been very good at interacting with our customers. I believe that new opportunities will come once we get out of this difficult situation,”
Steve said in a confident tone. He has two daughters.
