Low Voltage 분야의 전문회사 True Vision의 정재우(Josh) 사장을 지난 달열렸던 아틀란타 UGBSA 트레이드 쇼에서 만났다. True Vision은 B/S 매장에서 필수적으로 사용하는 CCTV Camera 와 Arlam System 설치업도 전문으로 하고 있다.
Q. 귀사의 시스템은 뭐가 다른가?
A. 재작년 까지는 대부분의 매장에서 아날로그 카메라를 90% 사용했다. 2년 전부터 디지털 추세로 많이 바뀌고 있다. 금년에는 70% : 30% 정도로 디지털이 설치가 아날로그로 설치를 역전했다. B/S 업계 추세도 비슷하다. 특히 매장이 대형화 되면서 디지털로 바꾸고 있다. 디지털 카메라가 대형 매장에서는 훨씬 더 효과적이기 때문이다. 1만 평방피트 이상의 매장은 거의 디지털로 가고 있다.
Q. 디지털과 아날로그 시스템의 차이는 뭔가?
A. 첫째는 제품의 수명이다. 아날로그의 단점은 카메라의 파워가 5년 정도 지나면 고장이 나기 시작한다. 하지만 디지털은 화면도 훨씬 선명할 뿐만 아니라, 제품의 수명이 2-3배 더 길다. 15년 정도까지 사용할 수 있다. 다만 가격이 2배 정도 차이가 난다. 하지만 디지털이 수명이 길고, 잔고장이 안나기 때문에 가성비가 훨씬 좋다고 할 수 있다. 또한 기능도 많아졌다.
Q. 어떤 기능이 추가된 것인가?
A. 〈People Counting〉 (일일 매장 입장 손님 숫자 기록) 같은 기능이 내장되어 있어, 일별, 주간별, 월별 쇼핑객 숫자의 추이를 파악할 수 있다. 또한 쇼핑객이 매장에 입장에서 쇼핑하는 모습을 계속 추적할 수 있는 기능이 달려 있다. 얼굴인식 기능도 또한 포함되어 있다. 더불어 배경음악을 넣을 수 있는 기능, 그리고 마이크를 사용할 수 있도록 했다.
Q. 가격은 대충 얼마나 드나? 설치 시간은?
A. 카메라 16대 설치를 기준으로 아날로그방식은 $2,800, 디지털방식은 $5,500-$6,000 정도 든다. 요즈음 일이 밀려, 오더를 받으면 2주 정도면 설치을 완료할 수 있다.
2013년 창업된 True Vision은 로우볼테지 설치 면허와 보험을 갖고 있다. 현재 SC, NC, FL, TN 등 드라이브 8시간 거리까지 출장 서비스가 가능하다고 한다. 알람 시스템도 설치&후속 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 정재우 사장 자신의 System Designer다. 정사장은 “2-3년 내로 아날로그 방식의 CCTV 감시 카메라는 종식될 것으로 보인다” 며 “앞으로 더욱 바빠질 것 같다” 고 했다.

Beauty Times met Josh Chung, the CEO of True Vision, a specialist company in the Low Voltage field, at the UGBSA Trade Show in Atlanta. True Vision specializes in the installation of CCTV cameras and alarm systems, which are essential in B/S stores.
Q. What sets your system apart?
A. Until last year, analog cameras were used in about 90% of stores. However, there has been a significant shift towards digital cameras in the past two years. This year, the installation ratio has reversed to about 70% digital vs 30% analog. The trend in the B/S industry is similar. Especially in larger stores, there is a switch to digital cameras because they are much more effective. Stores with an area of over 10,000 square feet are almost entirely transitioning to digital.
Q. What is the difference between digital and analog systems?
A. The first difference is the lifespan of the products. Analog cameras start to malfunction after about 5 years, whereas digital cameras not only have a much clearer image but also have a lifespan that is 2-3 times longer. They can be used for up to 15 years. However, the price difference is about twice as much. But considering the longer lifespan and fewer malfunctions of digital cameras, they offer better value for money. Additionally, they have more features.
Q. What additional features have been added?
A. They have built-in features such as “People Counting,” which records the number of daily store visitors, allowing for analysis of the trends in the number of shoppers on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. It also has the ability to track the movement of shoppers from the moment they enter the store. Facial recognition is also included. Furthermore, it has the capability to add background music and use a microphone.
Q. How much does it cost? What is the installation time?
A. Based on the installation of 16 cameras, the analog system costs around $2,800, while the digital system costs $5,500-$6,000. Nowadays, if an order is received, installation can be completed in about 2 weeks due to the busy workload. Established in 2013, True Vision holds a Low Voltage installation license and insurance. They currently offer on-site services within an 8-hour drive distance such as SC, NC, FL, TN, and other locations. They also provide installation and follow-up services for alarm systems. Chung himself is a System Designer. He mentioned that “analog CCTV surveillance cameras are expected to be phased out within 2-3 years” and that “we are likely to become even busier in the future.”
