회원들, 수고한 집행부 임원들에게 기립박수 보내
청년 경영인들 초청 “Y-NFBS” 결성 초석놓아
미주뷰티서플라이총연합회(NFBS, 회장 조원형) 임시총회가 지난 11월 11일 라스베이거스에서 개최되었다. 이번 임시총회는 2024년 송별회를 겸한, 17대 집행부가 마지막을 마무리하기 위해 소집되었으며, 임원과 이사를 포함하여 약 30여 회원들이 참석했다.
조원형 총회장의 회고로 총회가 시작되었다. 조 총회장은 “지난 10년간 부회장으로 5년, 총회장으로 5년을 NFBS를 위해서 일했다”면서 “능력이 부족했지만, 여러분들의 도움으로 최선을 다해 마음껏 일할 수 있었다”고 회고하면서 눈시울을 적셨다. 조회장의 수고와 공로에 대한 회원들의 감사의 박수가 이어졌다.
장원만 수석 부회장은 이번 임시총회는 “16대와 17대 집행부의 업무를 마감하면서 보고와 함께 그간 수고한 분들에게 감사를 표하기 위해 개최하게 되었다”고 말하면서, “특히 그동안 계획만 세우고 실천하지 못했던 NFBS 차세대 모임의 초석이라도 마련하고 싶어, 청년 경영인들을 특별히 초청하였다”고 덧붙였다. 장 부회장은 또한 “이 자리에 차기 회장님을 비롯한 새집행부가 참석했더라면, 보다 화기애애한 분위기 속에서 총연합회 업무의 인수인계가 이루어질 수 있었을 텐데, 매우 아쉽게 되었다”고 말했다.
오수정 부회장은 총회에서 “17대 집행부의 마지막 업무로서 차세대경영인 모임의 초석을 놓는다는 차원에서 이번에 특별히 능력있는 청년들을 초대하였으며, 참석한 분들과 뷰티업계의 미래에 대한 진지한 대화를 나눌 수 있어 매우 뜻 깊었다”면서, “앞으로 차세대 모임은 1980년생 이하로 결성하기로 했으며, 모임 활성화를 위한 예산 문제가 논의되어야 할 것으로 생각된다”고 덧붙였다. 오 회장의 보고에 대해 총회 회원들은 열렬한 박수로 환영하고, 협회 산하 청년모임(Y-NFBS)를 두기로 결의했고, 예산 확보 문제에 대한 이런저런 의견들이 교환되었는데, 구체적인 방안은 차츰 논의키로 했다. 한편, 폴라 방 이사, 최명신 이사, 박수잔 이사, 유인경 이사 등을 비롯한, 몇몇 회원들은 총회장에서 청년모임의 활성화를 위해 써달라고 기금봉투를 전하기도 했다.
이번 참석한 청년 경영인들을 대표하여 신빛나씨(Andrew Shin 신시내티, OH)는 “초대에 감사한다. 만나서 참 좋았다. 열심히 앞으로 NFBS 발전을 위해 노력하면서, 미래의 뷰티사업의 활성화를 위한 좋은 아이디어를 찾아내도록 하겠다”는 요지의 소감을 피력했다.
협회 발전을 위해서 도움을 준 다수의 공로자들에게 감사패가 전달되었으며, 그간 많은 수고를 해준 집행부 임원들에게 감사의 박수로 총회를 마쳤다.
The general meeting of the National Federation of Beauty Supplies (NFBS, President Cho Won-hyung) was held in Las Vegas on November 11, 2024. The general meeting was a farewell party and the 17th executive officers convened to wrap up the last meeting, and about 30 members, including executives, directors and members attended.
The general meeting began with the retrospective of President Cho Won- hyung. “I have worked for NFBS for 10 years, five years as vice president and five years as president,” Cho said. “I didn’t have enough ability, but I was able to work as much as I could with your help.” Members applauded for his hard work and contributions.
Senior Vice President Chang Won-man said, “The general meeting was held to thank those who have worked hard, and to give a final report regarding the work of the 16th & 17th executives,” adding, “We invited the young generation of C.E.Os especially because we wanted to lay the foundation for the next generation of NFBS meetings, which was planned, but not implemented until now.” Chang also said, “If the President Elected including the next executives had attended the meeting, it would have been possible to hand over all the works of NFBS in a more amicable atmosphere, but it is very unfortunate.”
Vice President Oh Soo-jung said at the general meeting, “As the last task of the 17th executive branch, we invited young C.E.O.s who are especially capable this time to lay the foundation for the Y-NFBS, and it was very meaningful to have serious conversations with those who attended about the future of the beauty industry,” adding, “In the future, the next generation meeting will be formed under those born in 1980, and I think budget issues for Y-NFBS should be discussed.” In response to Oh’s report, members of the general meeting welcomed them with enthusiastic applause and decided to set up a youth meeting (Y-NFBS) under the association, and opinions on securing the budget were exchanged, and resolved that it’s concrete measures should be gradually discussed. Meanwhile, some members, including Paula Bang, Choi Myung-shin, Park Suzan, and Yoo In-kyung, raised funds for the Y-NFBS.
On behalf of the young C.E.O.s who attended the event, Andrew Shin
(Cincinatti, OH) said, “Thank you for the invitation. It was great to meet you. I will work hard to develop Y-NFBS in the future and find good ideas for revitalizing the beauty business in the future.” Plaques of appreciation were delivered to a number of contributors who helped develop the association, and the general meeting ended with a round of applause to the executives of the executive branch for their hard work.
