30년 역사, 최고급 브랜드 향수 못지 않아
보통 5-6시간, 때로는 24시간도 지속
“30년전, 저희 회사 Genesis 창업과 동시에 출시한 제품입니다. 브랜드 내임을 제 아들 ‘지한‘이 이름을 따서 지었어요. 아마도 뷰티서플라업계에서 최초로 내놓은 오일제품의 하나고, 저희 회사의 가장 큰 자랑거리 입니다.“ Genesis사 이장준 사장은 이렇게 말하면서 “30년 넘게 우리 업계에서 꾸준히 생명을 지켜온 제품도 그리 흔치 않을 것.”이고 덧붙인다.
이 제품이 고객들의 사랑을 받는 특별한 이유는 뭘까? 이 사장은 이렇게 답한다. “무엇보다도 가격대비 보디향의 질이라고 생각해요. 스킨에 발랐을때 냄세가 적어도 5-6시간 지속하고, 경우에 따라 하루 24시간까지도 향 냄세가 없어지지 않습니다. 50달러 짜리 고급 브랜드 향수 제품에 못지 않다고 30년간 이 제품을 사용해온 우리 소비자들이 한결같이 얘기합니다.”
Knoxville에 위치한 King’s Beauty 매장의 장원만 사장은 “20년전 제가 장사를 시작하면서부터 Body Oil은 GENESIS의 Jehahn 브랜드 제품을 취급해 왔죠. 이 제품을 한번 사용한 고객들은 이 제품만을 찾아요.”라서 “특히 Egyption Musk가 인기 짱”이라고 덧붙였다.
동 제품은 2개월전 산뜻한 새로운 패키지를 내놓았다.
향수 제품의 상식도 함께 얘기한다. 미국인들은 향수를 로션처럼 잔뜩 바른다. 그리고 코에 가져다 대고 가슴 깊이 냄새가 들어올 때가지 깊이 마시기도 한다. 효과를 증폭시키기 위해 ‘증폭제(booster)를 사용는 경우도 있다. 증폭제는 보습제 역할을 해주는 제품으인데, 피부가 촉촉할수록 향이 오래 지속되고 더 깊이 퍼지기 때문에, 향수를 뿌리기 전에 증폭제를 사용하면 효과를 극대화할 수 있다고 한다. 다음과 같은 증폭제들이 있다. 매대에 나란히 올려놓고 함께 판매하면 좋을 것이다.
보습 오일(Moisturizing oil -Fragrance-Free Body Oil)
코코넛 오일, 호호바 오일, 시어버터 오일 등을 사용하면 향이 피부에 더 오래 남는다.

알로에 베라 젤(Aloe Vera Gel )

Apply to pulse points (wrists, nape of neck, behind ears, inside elbows) and spritz with perfume to slow down the evaporation of the scent and make it last longer.
무향 로션(Unscented Lotion)
무향 보디 로션을 발라 피부를 촉촉하게 한 후 향수를 뿌리면 향이 깊이 배어들고 오래 지속된다.

“This product was launched 30 years ago, at the same time as the founding of my company, Genesis. I named the brand after my son, Jihan. It is probably one of the first oil products in the beauty supply industry, and it is our biggest pride.” CEO Jame Lee said, adding “There are not many products that have been around for more than 30 years in our industry.”
What is it about this product that makes it so popular with customers? Lee replies, “First and foremost, the quality of the fragrance is excellent for the price. When applied to the skin, the scent lasts at least five to six hours, sometimes up to 24 hours a day, and our consumers who have been using it for over 30 years consistently tell us that it smells as good as a $50 high-end branded fragrance.”
Won Man Chang, owner of King’s Beauty in Knoxville, also highly recommends the product. “We’ve been carrying GENESIS’ Jehahn brand of body oils since I started my business 20 years ago,” he says, “and once customers try them, they only come back for more.” “Egyption Musk is a favorite,” he adds.
Meanwhile, Jehahn Body Oil can also be used as a bath oil for bathing and a burning oil for burning. The company launched a refreshing new package two months ago.
